Brow Lift & Lamination

The latest beauty treatment to hit your social media feed. It could be called Brow Lift or Brow Lamination. For some brows, it lifts the arch at just the right spot, to create an instant lift, for other brows, it creates a sleek laminated effect.

This service works by relaxing the hair, making it easier for us to guide its direction to our advantage. Many of our brow hairs grow in different directions, by getting a Brow Lift/Brow Lamination, it allows us to guide and manipulate the hairs in a way that most flatters our face.

Up until now, there was no service for people with arched brow hairs. Now there is.

For this service, we recommend getting a good brow gel, as well as regular brushing of the brows. At Onyx, we love WBCo’s Brow Soap. It creates a fuller looking brow, has a long lasting hold, and can help to maintain the look of freshly lifted brows. When you regularly brush your eyebrows, it stimulates blood flow, which can encourage hair growth. Daily moisturization of your brow hairs is something we also highly recommend. Our go to product is PAI Rosehip Oil. It’s rich in Omegas to help regenerate the skin without irritation, restores balance and confidence to unpredictable skin - suitable for all skin types, including eczema prone skin and acne prone skin!

No matter what your brow concern is - gaps, thinning, overplucking, unruliness - brow lamination is an amazing solution, and a great alternative to microblading.

Process

Brow lamination is basically a perm for your brows, as it gives them a set, uniform shape for an extended period of time. Instead of curls, a setting lotion helps brows hair stay brushed up and lifted upward, for approximately 6 weeks.

We start by painting a lifting cream onto the brow, which creates a chemical process that breaks down bonds in each hair allowing them to be moved into a new shape. Then we use a setting lotion to secure the bonds into their new shape. A nourishing oil is then added to the brows, to replenish their moisture after the chemical treatment process.

After, the brows may be tweezed, waxed or tinted depending on what clients prefer.

Lamination alone takes 45 minutes. For a lamination, tint and clean up, it’s an hour and 15 minutes.

If you prefer our natural organic Henna which lasts longer than the tint, you must wait 24 hours to get it done.

We don’t recommend doing this any sooner than 6-8 weeks. Like with any processing treatment with chemicals, hairs may become stiff and brittle, and overprocessing can lead to damage. With this in mind, conditioning and nourishing the brows afterward with an oil and moisturizing cream in the same way we do with our hair, after chemically treating it, is essential.

The overall results give you a low-maintenance look. Just be sure to keep the health of your brows in mind.
