Onyx Aesthetics Studio was founded in 2015 by Linda Trang Ly in Vancouver BC Canada. Onyx elevates the salon experience giving personalized attention and top-notch products and services. We believe no matter who you are, where you live, what you do, or what you wear, you can have a perfect manicure that makes you feel like your best self. Onyx is here to make that beautiful feeling happen for everyone.

Linda Trang Ly is the founder of Onyx Aesthetics Studio. She named the studio after learning onyx takes its name from the Greek word “onux”, meaning “fingernail.” According to Roman mythology, Cupid clipped the fingernails of the goddess Venus while she slept. To immortalize every part of her body, the fates transformed the clippings to stone.
Linda’s education started off at Blanche Macdonald in 2004. Linda was also in the dental industry for a few years before focusing on her passion for the beauty industry completely. Her early experiences were in Connecticut and Ontario for many years. But quality of life wooed her out west. When she arrived back to her stomping grounds of Vancouver, she realized Vancouver had everything she wanted except for the perfect nail/beauty salon. Seeing the opportunity to create a beautiful space, where women could expect and enjoy expert nail care on a regular basis and spend time with their friends, Linda opened Onyx Aesthetics Studio.
